The first artist book and publication fair organized in Brazil, Tijuana celebrates 10 years of existence this weekend (3rd and 4th of August) with its 23rd edition. Organized in partnership by the Ministry of Citizenship, Casa do Povo, Tijuana Editions and Galeria Vermelho, Tijuana has specialized, since 2009, in connecting publishers in Latin America. Over time, the fair became itinerant, with editions in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Lima, Buenos Aires and Porto.

Currently, the event works with a network of publishers that covers the production of countries such as Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela, among others. In this edition, in order to go beyondos limits of printed art, Feira Tijuana has a program curated by researcher Beatriz Lemos and artist Fabio Morais, including meetings and performances that include languages such as slam, sound insertions and others.

The fair will be held once again at Casa do Povo, in the São Paulo neighborhood of Bom Retiro (read here article about Casa), with more than 100 participating publishers. In the program of debates, topics such as contemporary racial relations and Africanities in Brazil, indigenous causes and political autonomy will be addressed. Click here and see the full schedule.
