It takes place this weekend, in São Paulo, between the 8th and 10th of November, the 4tha Art Weekend edition. With exhibitions, performances, conversations, book launches and guided tours, the event has the participation of more than 40 galleries in the city, in the regions of Centro, Pinheiros, Vila Madalena, Itaim and Jardins (see all participants on the website).

Organized by the Brazilian Association of Contemporary Art (ABACT), the Art Weekend begins on the night of the 8th with a cycle of debates and lectures at Cubo JK, at JK Iguatemi mall (sponsor of the event). Over the weekend, Talks, curated by Paula Alzugaray, has the participation of names such as artists Sonia Gomes and Mariana Manhães, IMS artistic director João Fernandes, curators Mirtes Marins de Oliveira and Ricardo Resende, collectors Beatriz Yunes (Ivani and Jorge Yunes Collection) and Pedro Barbosa (MoMA and Pinacoteca), among others.

In addition to Talks, highlights include the Galleries receive Galleries program, in which houses in São Paulo receive partners from other states (houses in Rio, Curitiba and Brasília), and the Walking Tours (see below for the routes). “Art Weekend is a celebration around art. We want to form new audiences and bring them closer to artists, curators and galleries”, says Luciana Brito, president of ABACT, in a publicity text. “In this edition, we also celebrate the international partnership with Gallery Weekend, which brings together independent organizations, art fairs and contemporary art associations from around the world”, she adds.
