“It is urgent to publicly discuss the problems of chronic socioeconomic inequality, the capture of the State by corporate agendas, structural racism and, at the opposite ends, the self-determination of peoples and communities, the recognition and valorization of different cultural matrices and, also, the unavoidable historical reparation. due to peoples neglected by Brazil in the singular”, declares the Regional Director of Sesc São Paulo Danilo Santos de Miranda. It is in this sense that the seminar is organized Brazil – Dissonant Territories, which takes place on June 28, 29 and 30 and July 05, 06 and 07 at Teatro Paulo Autran at Sesc Pinheiros, in São Paulo.

In the centenary year of Modern Art Week and the bicentennial of the Independence of Brazil, the event will bring together intellectuals and artists in order to reflect on the historical intersections between these two decisive events of our past with Brazil today.

Addressing topics such as new voices in cultural production, indigenous literature, social achievements of the last century and art's resistance to contemporary colonial violence, the program is made up of debate tables, conferences and artistic interventions and integrates the action in a network. Miscellaneous 22: Projects, Memories, Connections, developed by Sesc São Paulo. At inscriptions can be held for the entire program or each day of the event on the unit's website.

18h - Spiders, the Guarani and some Europeans: notes to decolonize the unconscious and free it from the fascist plague
Researcher Suely Rolnik proposes: “It is impossible to fight dystopian scenarios (like this one now, caused by the fascist plague) without facing the dominant unconscious regime. For this micropolitical confrontation, suggestions will be made based on resonances between the spiders, the Guarani and some Europeans”.

20h – Opening-manifesto with DJ KL Jay.
Racionais MC's DJ presents a narrative in rhythm and poetry about Brazil, mixing songs, excerpts of speeches and varied sounds to create a musical enunciation that represents a black and peripheral look at the country's history.

20h30 - Opening conference: who invented Brazil?
The conference – guided by Cida Bento and provoked by Thiago Amparo – invites us to reflect on the imperatives of decolonization of thought in contemporary times and how political-cultural organizations against hegemonic organizations act in the deconstruction of hierarchical narratives of gender, race, position and sexual orientation, class and origin.

18h - Defending the dead and animating the living: Art's resistance to contemporary colonial violence
Conducted by curator Moacir dos Anjos, the meeting proposes a reinterpretation and reinvention of images from XNUMXth century Brazil in the production of contemporary art.

20h - Opening-manifest: Sa(n)grad
Collective Há-Manas (Tânia Granussi, Branca Gonzaga and Esther Antunes), in partnership with the artists Branca Gonzaga and Esther Antunes, performs a performance with the text The world is my trauma by Jota Mombasa.

The unfolding of affection as a communication tool is the artist's bet, who starts from everyday experiences and close to her inner self to get closer, touching on shared dimensions of repression and violence - especially against the black and LGBTQIA+ population.

With Tiago Torres (Chavoso from USP) and Katú Mirim | Taunt: Rita Von Hunty
The Brazil thematized by the romantics and moderns was narrated by specific voices: male, white, bourgeois, landowners. Despite the fact that we continue to be a country of exclusion and elitist cultural production, the last century has seen the strengthening of new voices in literature, music, and cinema.

Inspired by the musical work Bachiana Brasileira n°7, Allysson Amaral's solo invokes the dynamic principle of Exú, Exú Enugbarijo – the collective mouth (mouth of the world) that swallows in one way to spit in a transformed way in another.

20h – Earth-body and counter-coloniality
The multiplicity of bodies, territories and their ways of existing and fighting coloniality will be the starting point for reflections by the quilombola master Nego Bispo.


19pm – Square (ground floor) – All over again
Beatriz Sano's solo is part of the project Brazilian Soils: Dances for Villa-Lobos at the invitation of Oficina Oswald de Andrade in São Paulo, in celebration of the centenary of the Week of Modern Art.

20h – People-books: Macuxi and Taurepang indigenous literature
Through indigenous literature, Julie Dorrico will present her work that invokes Makunaima; the poetry of Sony Ferseck, also a Macuxi writer; and Clemente Flores (Taurepang) and Devair Fiorotti (non-indigenous).
