A DAN Contemporary Gallery presents the exhibition "Sense", by the North American artist Bob Nugent, next Saturday, November 11th, from 10am. Bob's productions have been inspired by Brazil and the Amazon River Basin for over twenty-two years, bringing naturalistic forms similar to beehives, vertebrae, cocoons, anthills, plant forms and insects scattered across the surface of his work. The selected paintings show the contrast and conflict between the beauty of the Amazon and its permanent destruction, through dark tones. Nugent is one of the few contemporary artists who documents the Amazon Rainforest and its destinations through art, also proposing a reflection on its preservation.
The artist has been the protagonist of approximately 130 solo exhibitions and more than 650 group exhibitions, including at Mube (2018), the Tomie Ohtake Museum (2007) and Masp (1998). His works are in important Brazilian collections such as the Tomie Ohtake Museum, Masp, the Museum of Modern Art in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
