The artist and photographer Daniela Dib presents, in Museum of Image and Sound, institution of Secretariat of Culture, Economy and Creative Industry of the State of São Paulo, the exposure "When dreams meet blue“. Curated by Marcelo GrecoThe exhibition features approximately 15 previously unseen photographs, produced between 2021 and 2026, characterized by intimate atmospheres, interplay of light and shadow, reflections, and landscapes suspended in time, constructing a visual narrative between dream and reality.
The exhibition, part of the MIS's New Photography 2026 program, stems from Dib's fascination with the color blue – not only as a visual element, but as an emotional and symbolic state. Inspired by linguistic studies that point to the absence of the word "blue" in various ancient civilizations, the artist starts from the idea that sky and sea were perceived as vast and mutable territories, not yet named by language. Blue thus emerges as a silent and indefinable presence. In the photographs, this color appears less as a representation and more as an atmosphere. Between shadows, reflections, and subtle gestures, the artist constructs images that move between delicacy and tension, intimacy and emptiness, contemplation and vertigo.
“The photos presented in the exhibition represent much of my inner universe. A silent search, a look through a crack, inhabiting a dimension between the chaos and magic of everyday life – a delicate balance between the impulses of life and death,” says the artist. The exhibition proposes a contemplative experience to the public in contrast to the speed of the contemporary world. The installation reinforces this feeling: the way the works are fixed will give the impression of floating, a light sound of water complements the immersion conceived by the artist.
