The Artium Institute of Culture opens the exhibition Bone Point, with more than 30 new works by artist Marcia de Moraes, designed specifically for the architecture of Palacete Stahl. The exhibition, which occupies both the rooms and the garden.

The 30 drawings that occupy the internal area of the exhibition space were designed especially for this installation. All works are 2,80 meters high and, side by side, are ten meters long, in a sequential and polyptych composition. “In the case of the drawings in this exhibition, I chose to occupy the spaces delimited by golden frames that are part of the architecture of the house, creating all the drawings especially for this place. It is, therefore, a site specific. I started slowly, from left to right, occupying the 9 meter wall of my studio, as if it were a large and single drawing, which in Artium, dismembers itself and occupies the demarcated spaces. I want the viewer to realize that the drawings have continuity, that they form a single body”, details artist Marcia de Moraes.

In addition to the drawings, the artist also designed a wooden installation to occupy an entire room and ceramic sculptures for the mansion's garden. The title of the exhibition, Ponto de Osso, was born in reference to this universe of ceramics, the moment when the clay dries and it is no longer possible to model it. “She becomes a bone. For me, this is completely related to drawings, because, unlike painting, drawing doesn't let me superimpose colors, and I can't even erase what I paint with colored pencils, in other words, what is done becomes dry like clay , there's no way to fix what you don't like, just improvise and accept it. And this can also be seen as a metaphor for life, as there are always situations that we experience and that we cannot change, only deal with the consequences. My works are always very self-referential, they are comments on what I experience, what surrounds me. In this exhibition I feel that the works are more voracious, they seem hungry for the viewer, I hope the visitor feels embraced or swallowed”, he adds.
