The multidisciplinary artist Dolores Esos opens the exhibition “grout", at the Correios Cultural Center Rio de Janeiro (CCCRJ)The exhibition presents her most recent series of paintings, developed from a sensitive observation of daily life and visual memories that transcend time. Dolores proposes an immersion in seemingly discreet fragments, such as tiles, ceramics, facades, railings, and household objects, which, when brought together, construct a poetic narrative about affective memory and collective identity. The exhibition can be visited from May 14th to June 27th, Tuesday to Saturday, from 12 pm to 7 pm. The CCCRJ is located at Rua Visconde de Itaboraí, 20, in downtown Rio. Admission is free and the exhibition is open to all ages.
Curated by Ana Carla Soler and with institutional support from the Instituto Artistas Latinas, in “Rejunte,” Dolores transforms these everyday elements into compositions that evoke different temporalities. Her works suggest the coexistence of multiple pasts in the present, inviting the public to access personal and shared memories. In a context marked by the massive production of digital images and the action of artificial intelligence, the artist proposes an inverse movement: the recovery of sensory experience and memories built from direct contact with the world.
“The exhibition is an invitation for each visitor to recognize, in the images presented, fragments of their own experiences, completing the works with their affective repertoires,” proposes the artist.
