The exposure museum-school-city: MAM Rio in five perspectives proposes an exercise in memory on the 75th anniversary of the museum: an act of looking at the past, at what has already been done and the things that happened here, as an invitation to think about what MAM Rio can be today and in the future.
Focusing on the first three decades of its history, the exhibition presents five areas that anchor MAM Rio's actions, and an event that marked its course. Education, design, cinema, the experimental and artistic creation movements that have permeated the museum's existence are the chosen fields of action, which cement the relevance of an institution closely linked to the dynamics of the city.
As an event, the fire that occurred in 1978 at the museum represents a moment of change characterized by the collective engagement of cultural professionals and the population, and by institutional review.
In each of these axes, works from the MAM Rio collection are presented along with documents originating, for the most part, from the museum's archives, writing stories through objects, images and printed matter.
