The works, developed throughout the artist's research, were not produced for a specific exhibition space, but are reorganized within the context of Goá as a continuous journey, in which each painting acts as a fragment of a memorial landscape. This spatial reconfiguration allows for new interpretations of the whole, activated by the relationship between the artwork, the architecture, and the circulation of the public.
The work stems from the observation of architectural elements and urban ornaments as devices of memory and affective experience. In the pictorial field, these references are challenged through processes that emphasize the instability of the image, revealing memory as a field of constant negotiation between presence and erasure.
Material research plays a central role in the artist's practice. The use of resin, graphite powder, clay, enamel, and other materials directly influences the construction of surfaces, producing dense images marked by gesture and time. Inserted into an everyday space, the exhibition broadens the debate on ways of inhabiting, temporality, and the circulation of contemporary art outside of traditional institutional spaces.
"In Marks of TimeMy interest lies in the vestiges of the city—ornaments, architectural details, and surfaces that bear the marks of use and the passage of time. These elements, often perceived merely as decoration, function for me as memory devices and activators of affective experiences linked to the places I have inhabited and traversed. In painting, I seek to create tension in the image through gesture and materiality, allowing it to transform throughout the process. The works do not intend to record the past, but to highlight memory as an unstable field, made of layers, erasures, and resignifications. Daniela Marton
