Details

The Ipiranga Museum presents a unique exhibition. Freedom: a diverse neighborhoodThe exhibition offers a new perspective on one of São Paulo's best-known neighborhoods and invites the public to reflect on: What is a neighborhood? What is an ethnic neighborhood? And what makes a neighborhood plural?

For over two centuries, the region has been occupied and transformed by different social and ethnic groups, becoming a territory marked by encounters, cultural exchanges, permanence, displacement, and disputes over memory.

Curated by historians Paulo Garcez Marins, Mônica Raisa Schpun, Aline Montenegro Magalhães, Francisco Andrade, and David Ribeiro, the exhibition is organized into three modules and presents Liberdade as a territory in constant transformation.

During the guided tour, the public is invited to explore the exhibition with museum educators, delving deeper into the themes, historical contexts, and issues presented by the show.
