My inaugurates the 2024 season of the Nova Fotografia project, with the series “Colors of São Paulo”, made by photographer Rafa Rojas. The work explores a new vision of gray São Paulo, seeking an escape from the colors of the city's architecture. With free entry, the exhibition runs until March 17th.

Nova Fotografia is an annual project by MIS – an institution of the Secretariat of Culture, Economy and Creative Industry of the Government of the State of São Paulo – which selects, through a call open to the public, six new photographers for a solo exhibition at the museum. The selection is the responsibility of the Programming Center, with supervision and coordination by the general curatorship of the MIS. Unpublished photographic series are selected, from professionals who stand out for their technical and aesthetic originality. After the exhibition period, the chosen series become part of the MIS collection.

“Cores de São Paulo” is a series of the street photography genre, characterized by the recording of urban space. In it, Rafa Rojas, who is influenced by the films of Wes Anderson and the photographic work The Americans, by Robert Frank, shares his perceptions and finds poetry in the geometry of everyday life in the metropolis. His photographic vision manages to record the city of São Paulo, considered by many to be gray, frenetic and chaotic, from a perspective that highlights the bright colors present in its daily life.
