Andressa Faiad – The sustainable stylist

She was born in Brasília, in a traditional Arab family, lived between the modernist concrete of the city and the mystical waterfalls of Chapada dos Veadeiros. She passed the fashion course at Faculdade Santa Marcelina in São Paulo, but her mother, for fear of the city, wouldn't let her live there. So, as at the time there was no higher fashion course in the federal capital, Andressa went to study communication in advertising. 6 years ago, still at university, she created her Callicore workshop. She chose the name because it is a species of butterfly with several color variations. After developing some of her work as an artisanal stylist in Brasília, she went to try life in São Paulo a year ago. With her workshops, she tries to empower people from underserved communities to produce and recycle their own fashion. And, little by little, in her home/studio, in Vila Mariana, she develops her collections alone with unique pieces and scraps reused from textile leftovers from large industries.
