It is not uncommon that, when the main Venice exhibition is very powerful, the national representations become somewhat overshadowed. This was undoubtedly the case in 2026. There is little to say about the official choices, but, in compensation, parallel exhibitions brought artists and research that engaged extensively with the curatorial approach of "In Minor Tones".
