The Bispo do Rosário Arte Contemporânea Museum (mBrac) and the Museum of Images of the Unconscious (MII), based respectively in Engenho de Dentro and in Jacarepaguá, in Rio de Janeiro, started campaigns this October to raise funds for maintenance and expansion. The institutions resorted to the matchfunding crowdfunding, in partnership with the BNDES+ Matchfunding Program.

For each real donated on the pages created on the Benfeitoria platform, BNDES triples the amount, donating another two reais to museums. The campaigns are called “all or nothing”, since it is necessary that the total goals are reached so that the value is reverted to the institutions. If not, the money goes back to the donors. Both projects offer rewards to their collaborators, designated according to the amount donated by each one.

mBrac has launched its matchfunding on Friday, October 25th, and has 37 days to reach the value of 150 thousand reais, ending on December 4th. The amount will be used for the restoration of the big sailboat and for cleaning other works by the artist Arthur Bispo do Rosario (click here to learn more and donate to mBrac).

In turn, the MII started its campaign on October 7 and has already raised 79% of the target of 244,5 reais. The money will be used for the museum to expand its activities and protect its collection (click here to learn more and donate to MII).

Matchfunding BNDES+ is a program that assists in the contribution to cultural projects through collective financing that joins the direct contribution of the BNDES, transforming itself into a “combined financing”.
