MMore than 50 national art galleries will meet as of this Thursday, the 24th, at Latitude Art Fair, a virtual event held through the Artsy platform. The fair, which runs until Sunday, the 27th, is the first event of its kind organized by Latitude – Platform for Brazilian Art Galleries Abroad, a project that is a partnership between the Brazilian Association of Contemporary Art (ABACT) and the Brazilian Agency for the Promotion of Exports and Investments (Apex-Brasil).

Access to the event – which features houses such as Kogan Amaro, A Gentil Carioca, Casa Triângulo, Estação, Pinakotheke, Luciana Brito, Janaina Torres, Vermelho, Raquel Arnaud and Karla Osório – will be free for visitors, who will be able to find works in various languages and media, from young artists to established names.

The fair takes place after the virtual realization of the national Not Canceled Brazil, in June, and SP-Arte Viewing Room, in August, and a series of other international fairs that migrated to the digital environment throughout the year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite an initial paralysis with the quarantine, important Brazilian gallery owners recently told arte!brasileiros that the art market has reheated over the months. Read here articles on the subject produced in July e August.

During the Latitude Art Fair, as is common at such events, several galleries will promote lives with artists on social media and guided tours of the studios. Look here the programation. “There will be four days dedicated to contemplating national contemporary art, a sector that, even in difficult times like the ones we are living, has not stopped reinventing itself and constantly works to increasingly take Brazilian art and culture across the country and the world. ”, says the text of the event.
