In its 36th edition, which opened in early September, the São Paulo Biennial reaffirms its role as a disseminator of artistic production that develops far from the general public, accessible only to small groups of initiates. In 2025, the exhibition's focus seems to be a blend of gentle languages, guided by a personal and poetic relationship with the universe of things, deeply rooted in traditional practices, without any major theoretical, technical, or emotional outbursts. This is compounded by a choice of fluid montage, resulting in a pleasant, airy exhibition that closely resembles the metaphor of estuaries, one of several used by the curatorial team to define their intention of illuminating moments of fertile encounter between waters of different natures, fresh and salty.
