CWith a face-to-face event scheduled for the month of August, between the 18th and 22nd, SP-Arte is holding this week the second edition of your virtual event, the SP-Arte Viewing Room. With around 120 national and international participants – including art and design galleries, publishers and independent projects – the fair takes place between Wednesday, the 9th, and Sunday, the 13th of June.

For the director and founder of the fair, Fernanda Feitosa, in a publicity text: “The advancement of digital is undeniable and irreversible. Digital platforms will increasingly enhance the reach of the market as a whole, opening the doors even more to the international scene or even bringing new collectors closer, who feel more comfortable in the online environment. Digital, of course, does not replace physical contact, the feeling of seeing a work in person, but it brings an experience that can be a complement to the face-to-face experience”.

On each gallery's page, the SP-Arte Viewing Room visitor can browse an exhibition project with up to 20 works by one or more artists. The public can check out the works through videos and audios that create a narrative around the digital exhibition, enriching the user experience. If there is interest in any work available on the website, just one click on “Contact gallery” allows the exhibitor and the potential buyer to start a conversation through a chat on the platform, Whatsapp or email.

In parallel with the fair and integrated into its realization, from Wednesday, the 8th, the Gallery Week takes place, with in-person activities held in and around the art galleries of São Paulo. The action is carried out by SP-Arte in partnership with ABACT and Iguatemi.

During this period (from June 8th to 12th), participating houses will be open from 11 am to 19 pm, carrying out guided tours, conversations with artists/curators, virtual talks and/or urban interventions, always respecting the current safety protocols due to the pandemic. of Covid-19. All visits will be made by prior arrangement. Check it out here the participating galleries.
