For a fraction of a second, ApocalypseAlex Flemming's exhibition, installed in the historic Palacete Simonsen in downtown São Paulo, evokes a feeling of "delirium" in me. With its worn architecture and deteriorated brick walls framing paintings with neo-expressionist gestures, it made me feel like I was in Berlin, one of the most alternative cities of the 1980s. The building, from 1919, is similar to so many others that Flemming has just left in Kreuzberg, Mitte, and Prenzlauer Berg, neighborhoods that made up his daily map.
